Inspired by the iconic line, “Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?” from Snow White—I wanted to reimagine the mirror not as a source of vanity, but as a window into the unattainable. In this piece, the mirror reflects not beauty but the illusion of it—an endless pursuit where perfection remains just out of reach. It serves as a haunting reminder of how societal standards of beauty create insecurities within us, compelling us to chase something that can never truly be grasped.
The magic of this artwork lies in its interaction. As viewers gaze into the mirror, they see themselves, yet also confront the notion that true beauty—often defined by others—remains elusive. The reflection becomes more than just an image; it’s an experience that invites introspection, asking each viewer to question the standards imposed upon them. In the end, the mirror reveals that beauty, in its truest form, cannot be measured by mere reflections, but must be found within.
